Beautiful Bengal Cats For Sale

If you are interested in Bengal cats for sale, here are some things you should know about these beautiful animals before choosing one to be your pet. Made as a cross-breed between the Asian leopard cat and the domestic can, they do look like small leopards, but are perfectly affectionate and friendly, just like any other cat. They can have spots or marble patterns, both equally attractive and unusual.

Bengals come in several standard colors, including silver, brown, mink and sepia. Blue and some other colors are considered as non-standard colors. The belly is often light colored or white. Their body structure is mainly inherited from their wild ancestors, but they are perfectly adapted for family living, just like their domestic relatives.

This breed or hybrid was first mentioned more than hundred years ago, but the cross was first confirmed back in 1934. This popular, attractive breed today have more than 60 000 registered animals, but some associations still don't recognize hybrids. They are generally healthy, except of rarely noticed possible recessive disorder that can cause blindness in early age.

Thanks to the fact they are a cross-breed between domestic cat and a wild animal, the Asian leopard cat, they have to be our generations away from their wild ancestor before they can become someone's pet. This means that the first three generations will be used for breeding, and then they will be allowed to come to their new families. Active, intelligent and very affectionate, these lovely animals sometimes do practice different behavior than their domestic relatives.

Bengals are normally classed as brown spotted and white spotted or snow spotted, although they do come in more colors. They can be spotted or marbled, in both classes. Rosette variation of spots is especially interesting. In this case, every spot is surrounded with a dark line. Rosettes with three distinctive colors are especially appreciated.

Snow Bengals are especially attractive, and they can also be spotted or marbled. Some of them have extraordinary looking blue eyes, and others can have brown and green, or maybe gold eyes. They are divided into two groups, the blue-eyed and all the others. Two special variations, the blue eyed lynx and green or gold eyed sepia are sometimes called Snow leopard Spotteds.

Marble Bengals are especially beautiful. Their swirl shaped markings flow horizontally, and look really interesting. Ocelot patterns with horizontal flow are highly valued, and it usually appears in sepia, mink and lynx variations. Marbled pattern can also have rosettes, i two or more colors, beautifully shaped.

Bengals have large bones and short hair, although other variations are also possible, such as long haired one. They can weigh up to fifteen pounds. These cats are perfectly friendly, curious and entertaining. Some of them especially enjoy playing in water together with their owners, unlike any other domestic cat. You can even walk them on the leash.

When you find Bengal cats for sale, make sure to understand more about these animals before buying them. Although they enjoy the companionship of both children and adults, they sometimes require more attention than other domestic cats. Even so, once you get to know them, you will be positively surprised how intelligent and affectionate they really are.
