Using Australian Labradoodle Therapy Dogs

By Judy Sullivan

Australian labradoodle therapy dogs are used mostly because of their keen sense of smell, and their loving temperament they are also calm animals. Of course we can not deny that they are just the most adorable dogs ever. Therapy dogs need special training. This training starts at a very young age, they usually start training service dogs as young as six weeks old.

Service animals are trained for doing different types of things like working with the deaf and blind. They also work with senior citizens, autism patients, and other people with mental or physical handicaps. The most compatible service animals are the ones that have the most human contact as puppies. Breeders are good at determining which dog has the personality and the temperament for certain people with specific disabilities.

When you are picking a service animal you should let your breeder know what you expect your dog to be able to do so that they can train your dog to do what it is you need it to do. They begin this training while the dog is still a puppy.

You can even buy a service dog for kids with diabetes. These service dogs can be trained to smell high and low blood sugar. They are trained for this from birth. Diabetes service dogs are pretty new to the service dog industry but they are great at helping kids keep their blood sugars at normal levels. They have saved many kids. Service dogs are very well trained and when they are on the job they don't detour from their work. They are on duty until you let them off duty.

Australian labradoodles are great service dogs. A therapy dog is a dog that has special training before it can be used as a therapy dog. These dogs go to prisons, adoption homes, hospitals, nursing homes and mental hospitals. The therapy dogs give people hope and life their spirits. Some people even believe that these dogs help sick people start to get well. This isn't proven but a lot of people do believe it.

A service dog has to pass a test and requirements so that they can go into these places to visit people. They have to have special training that includes following commands, letting strangers pet and touch them, they also have to be able to handle crowds and chaotic situations. They also have to refrain from jumping on people.

Since these dogs have such a good sense of smell they are great service dogs for people with seizures because these dogs can smell when a person is going to have a seizure so they can warn them. Of course they have to be trained to be able to do this. Some dogs can even be trained to bring medication to their owners if they are not able to get up to get it.

Australian labradoodle therapy dogs are definitely the dog you want to think about getting if you plan to buy a service dog. You will love your dog and your dog will love you. They are also wonderful with children and even adults.
