All Natural Dog Treats NY Says You Love Your Pet

By Della Monroe

Many pet owners use tasty goodies as a reward when they obey, during training, or just because it feels good to watch their tail wag and know they appreciate it. But many of those tasty tidbits are high in calories and additives that can be doing harm to your pet. Giving them something healthy instead is not difficult and probably as easy as simply going to your refrigerator or cabinets. The reason is because all natural dog treats NY says you love your pet.

It does not take a lot of effort to put together some of the recipes you will find on the internet. Try trading goodies and baking hints with other pet owners. Start a baking club and swap pet cookie bags during the holidays instead of the traditional type of cookie swap.

Animals are sometimes much more like their human owners than a person may think and they sometimes have allergies. To avoid making a big batch of snacks, cut the recipe down the first time to find out if they have a reaction to any of the ingredients. If not, make lots more to give to your pet and to swap with other owners.

Another type of healthy snack or reward for your pet are regular organic vegetables and fruits. Most dogs love carrots, especially the baby size. Green beans and broccoli are two other favorites of most canines. If you give them fruit, you will need to experiment with different types. One food that it seems all canines love is peanut butter. However, there are certain foods to never give your animal, these are anything containing apple seeds, grapes, raisins, onions, and chocolate or anything with caffeine.

Raw bones are also good for them and something they love. Always make it a raw bone and never cooked ones. It does not matter if they are boiled, baked, or steamed. Cooked bones tend to splinter and in turn cause internal damage to the animal which can result in extreme pain, sever complications, or death. So please remember, feed them only raw bones.

There are two classifications of bones to give to your animal. The first one is for them to actually eat. These are chicken and turkey necks and wings. The reason is they are chewable so there is no splintering. Plus they have calcium, phosphorus, and trace minerals all of which contribute to a healthy diet.

Large bones are referred to as recreational because you do not want them to actually eat these. They are to be gnawed on. This act helps stimulate them mentally and is like giving their teeth and gums a good flossing and brushing. You just want to give them something that is too large for them to swallow and it should be thick enough so they can not break it into pieces and swallow. This is also to prevent splintering.

Another condition you might need to prepare for is if your dog is predisposed to pancreatitis. If this is the case, then remove any marrow from the bone before giving it to them. The fat from the marrow can cause diarrhea or a flair up.

You can find necks, wings, and large bones at any butcher or meat counter. You can store them in the freezer until you need them. One more thing to mention and that is to also not give them pork or rib bones because these also splinter.
