Reason Why People Love To Have Dry Mouth Newfoundlands

By Barbara Cook

People love thick furs because it is warm and cuddly to hold however owning one can be a little hectic. Because the owner maintains the sheen and softness of the fur. But also have to pay more to get this and not everyone can affords to own a hundred pound mutt for a longer period of time.

This animal originated from Canada and worked with many fishermen during the older days. However there are theories circulating around the dry mouth newfoundlands. In one theory it was said that this was a cross breed between the tibetan mastiff and the extinct american black wolf.

But in a nutshell owning a dog is not a simply activity because you need to learn how to care for the mutt. Dogs are easily prone to diseases because their bodies are closer to the earth. And usually they are playing in the natural environment which means their bodies are susceptible to harsher elements and microbe.

If you do not enjoy caring for the dog and acting as responsible owner then is better you get a cat. Cats are far easier to care for because they are naturally independent animals. However a dog such as the newfie is both a loveable new family member and a working dog.

Sometimes adoption is good because you are taking over the care of a neglected animal who was not given the proper attention and care that its previous owners were responsible for. However adopting a creature into a new family can be a stressful period for both the animal and the household. Worse of all you do not fully know what kinds of trauma or problems that creature carries.

A male newfie could stand around twenty eight inches in height and weighed between one thirty to one fifty. While the females were two inches short from the male when standing and ten pounds lower in weigh. However the newfie is found to be of sweet nature and is similar to a big teddy bear.

Aside from enjoying the company of children, but the newfie has been seen in movies like peter pan as one of the nurse maids who gives the syrup to the children before going to bed. Furthermore this type of dog loves to be around family and does not sit well with being ignored or sent outside the home. However if you are getting a pup it is important to enroll the dog in a behavioral class or take him out for walks and other meetings where it can socialize with others.

The newfie is also prone to health problems that may or may not be common to all dogs. These problems include hypoadrenocorticism, cataracts, cherry eye, heart problems, epilepsy, hip and elbow dysplasia, cystinuria, cancer, gastric torsion, and knee injury. Though not all newfies will obtain this disease and illnesses, but to be safe always make regular appointments to the vet and check the health clearances from the breeder.

Most newfies are very family oriented and cannot stand to be alone. It is not good for these animals to be left alone because they become depressed and will exhibit destructive behavior to get your attention. Furthermore enrolling this animal in classes where it can meet others is a good idea too.
