By Charles Clark

Beautiful and playful Siberian cats are just perfect pets for every family. Even if you aren't so fond of cats, you will probably change your opinion when you get to know these amazing animals. They are quite different when compared to other cats. For example, they love water. Once you learn a little bit more about them, you will probably try to find Siberian kittens for sale.

With their lovely, semi-long double coats and large, soft paws, Siberians are really attractive. But it's their character what makes them so popular. They are really friendly and playful, intelligent and affectionate. They make just perfect family pets and adapt very well to any given living space. They aren't moody as cats often are, but always ready to play.

When it comes to a size, Siberians are medium to large. Their medium long double hair makes them really beautiful, soft inside with thicker top coat. It's interesting that females are not just a little bit smaller, but noticeably. Both males and females are really lovable and friendly, and make friends with children, and even with other animals in your household, including dogs.

They come in different colors, and in any combination, any amount of white hair is also allowed. Beautiful chocolate in all possible nuances, or caramel, or cinnamon, are always popular choices. They can also be 3-color or 2-color, Tabby or color-pointed. Some combinations can have any eye color, but some, for example white patterned and color-pointed, have to have blue eyes.

This is several thousands years old breed, and they used to live only in cold Siberia, in Russia. They became popular in the nineteenth century, when they came from Russia for the first time. Unusual as they are, they soon became highly popular. Their lovely appearance and good manners made them appreciated among cat lovers all over the world. And among dog lovers, too. Besides, they are often compared to dogs, thanks to their behavior and intelligence.

When it comes to grooming, you should expect a lot of work. To avoid tangling, their lovely coats need to be brushed several times a week. There will be more to do in a period of changing hair, usually twice a year, in spring and in autumn. During winter months, their hair is usually thicker. You also need to check their ears regularly, to avoid too much wax and possible infections.

When it comes to food, you should provide high quality cat food that will meet all their nutritional needs. They should be fed a few times a day, always at the same time, because they appreciate order. Your new kitten should be fed with the same food she received before, to avoid tummy issues. Ask the breeder about it and make sure to feed your kitten respecting the given schedule.

Siberian cats are generally healthy, with a few known issues. Your breeder should issue the certificate and give you some additional info. Siberians mature slowly, and they are fully grown at the age of four or five. Their life expectancy is between twelve and fifteen years, if fed with good quality food and kept in order.
