Being Disciplined With Dog Training Santa Clarita Valley

By Helen White

A pet is, with a doubt a very special part of the family. Children grow up with dogs, remembering the happy times they had with their puppy. However, one needs to go through with dog training Santa Clarita Valley. Without this, one will have a weak bond with the animal. A connection develops as you start to train the puppy, teaching him to get into a routine.

Kids always remember the first pet that they had. They learn so much about having a dog in the house. When they own a dog and they train him themselves, they develop a set of values and morals. They become more disciplined and this is obviously helpful for the years ahead during their time at school, college and as they reach adulthood.

When training a dog, it is important to decide what you want out of the process. This is different for everyone. Some people are more casual out of the training. They may just want their puppy to be toilet trained. They will make sure that they get into a routine of eating and then going outside. It is obviously important to be consistent about this.

They will soon be independent. They will be able to stay by themselves for sometime. This can especially be a relief for an owner who finds that their shoes are constantly being ripped to shreds or that toilet training takes time to sink in. All puppies go through the stage where they are more prone to act like a baby does.

Other dogs are happy to curl up in bed next to their owner. They will lie on the sofa without being scolded and they will have a free reign of the home. It is different, depending on the owner and the reason why they have the dog. An elderly person may have a small dog as a companion. Empty Nester's often get larger dogs who serve the same purpose but they also accompany them on walks and runs.

It may be boring to think of something like Jack or Jasper. However, it is important to find something which is easy to remember and which your dog is going to catch on to. It should be short, but also sharp at the same time. There will be times when you need to call him and you want him to come immediately.

Calling your dog to attention is something that he needs to respond to learn in the early stages. There may be dangerous situations, such as another dog that wants to approach him or a case where he wants to rush across the street. He has to be aware of his name, and in addition to this, he has to come when you call him. It takes practice to get to this point.

Training a dog from a rescue center is another ball game, and one needs to have a plan for this as well. Of course, there are dogs that are easily trained. Their owners may have had to leave them here after going overseas or to a retirement complex, for example. However, there are dogs who have been abused or animals that have been through a lot of trauma. One needs to have a lot of patience.
