Grocery Shopping Online Guide

By Diana Lensbury

Grocery shopping online is a great alternative to having to spend precious time wandering up and down the aisles of a store. Having someone else do this frees up time for you to be doing more enjoyable things in your life. Just think about no driving around the car park to find a space, no need to queue up at a checkout station and no unpacking the car. Ordering goods online is a great way of saving invaluable time.

No more lifting the heavy items in and out of the car from the supermarket to the house, this task will be taken away from you and the goods will arrive at your door. Ordering your goods via the internet will save not only time but also the wear and tear on your muscles from carrying heaving items, let this be done by someone else instead.

The procedure to register for grocery shopping online is simple to follow. Usually you will be asked for your contact details, name, address, contact phone number and email address. Some stores will send a welcome email to your email address which will have within it an account number for you to use and will confirm your validation of details provided. Validate the welcome email and then you are ready to commence internet order.

There will be a request to choose a delivery time and date. Decide on a convenient day and time that you are available to accept the order, and then continue to select the groceries order online.

The grocery goods are usually laid out in a logical order so it is easy to navigate around in a similar way you would walk up and down the aisles of the supermarket. To choose the goods you click on the item wanted, enter the number of that item you want and then click to add the item to your online shopping cart.

Some stores will ask if you prefer to accept a substitution product in case a product you have chosen is out of stock. This means you will receive a similar item which is a close match to the one you ordered. This is an option and if you prefer you can say that no substitutions are to be accepted; in this instance your delivery will show this item as being out of stock.

When you have picked all the items the next step is to proceed to checkout. On the checkout page payment details will need to be entered and the delivery address confirmed, next, submit your order and all that is left to do is wait for your grocery shopping online order to arrive at your door.
