Successful methods to effectively train your dog

By Alfred Obi

Training your dog is a very important part of dog ownership. Unless you get a developed dog, you will need to toilet train your puppy if you do not need accidents in the house. Potentially even more important is to teach your dog that you are his master, and he must obey you.

Taking a dog on a regular walk, or 2, is an indispensable element of obedience coaching. A dog without exercising isn't a peaceful dog, and it's extremely tough to train a dog in an excited state. It is a good idea to take them out before any rigorous coaching exercise so that they are beat and in a submissive state when you start to show them.

If you're serious about coaching your dog, do not forget to be a dog during coaching. Dogs build control and behaviour through physical commands and less through spoken command. When you want your dog to exhibit a certain behaviour, use nudges or posture changes physically together with your oral commands. These are characteristics your casperdog expects and will reply appropriately.

Dogs regularly become damaging because they are bored and lonely. Consider a house casperdog that destroys the settee while you are away from the house. Consider the larger outside dog that chews up the shrubbery. The solution to alleviating their deleterious behavior could be as easy as passing more time with them or purchasing them a new toy.

Be aware that you aren't going to have a wonderfully trained dog overnite. Changing behaviors is a lengthy process that will involve lots of successes and lots of problems. If you are not coaching from a young dog, the process can take even longer as your dog must both unlearn bad behaviors and learn fresh ones. Have patience and you'll start to see results.

Give your young dog something to chew on. Having particular items for this purpose will really help to train them not to munch on everything. This may reinforce good behaviour.

Control your dogs feeding time if you would like to control his potty times as well. In order to foster routine toilet habits, give your dog great food between 2 and 3 times a day on a firm schedule. That way, you'll know when you need to take your doggie out to go.

If you do not have the information to train your dog yourself it is sensible to take him to obedience college. The teacher will demonstrate how to teach your dog to defer to your commands, and as a result, he is going to be more enjoyable to you and your family, and he is going to be happier.
