Know The Facts Before Purchasing Cavachons For Sale

By Janet Morgan

It can be quite exciting taking in a new pet, though this is not an action to be taken lightly. Before doing this, make sure that the chosen animal is going to be compatible with one's personality and way of living. When purchasing Cavachons for sale, certain factors need to be considered.

One mistake that a lot of people make in their excitement over getting a new puppy is picking on based solely on its looks. Although appearance is a big reason most individuals are drawn to a particular breed, its grooming needs, temperament, health concerns, and size are all factors that can affect one's ability to care for the animal properly. For a smoother integration, it helps to know a bit more about their typical qualities.

Designer dogs are created by combining two different purebreds in order to get a single dog with the most desired traits of each of its parents. They are usually harder to come by because to get the perfect mix they should be from first generation litters. Most kennel clubs do not allow these animals to compete in their shows as they are technically a mixed breed.

Another thing one should realize when adopting a designer dog is that there are no set standards for these animals. This means that because they come from two separate breeds, there are certain characteristics that tend to be more prominent, however this is not always consistent. This is why first-generation litters are always recommend, because this particular type of mating tends to produce the most desirable results.

When it comes to the Cavachon, the breeding is between a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a pure Bichon Frise. As they are both of the Toy category, their offspring will only grow to a maximum height of fifteen inches and weigh no more than twenty pounds in adulthood. Their tiny stature is one thing that a lot of people find really attractive - especially those whose homes have limited space, such as apartments.

The coat of a Cavachon is usually silky and soft, with a bit of a wave, though it is also possible that it might be thick and curly. Both textures are considered as hypoallergenic since after the first year of puppy fur, they shed very little and have almost no dander. People with allergies, and those who do not care to clean up dog hair, tend to find this an attractive trait.

These pups are well known for their loving nature and high levels of energy. They make wonderful companions because they eagerly give and receive affection, though early socialization is a must to achieve controlled behaviors. While they will bark when strangers are present, they should not be used at watchdogs because they make new friends very easily.

Their typical lifespan is between 15 and 20 years, so any potential pet owners should understand that this is a long term commitment. Their health is generally good though one should be aware that the dog may suffer common health issues for small breeds such as heart murmurs. With regular care they should live a long and healthy life.
