Essential Lessons Learned From Dressage Training Workshops

By Nancy Bailey

Every rider needs to learn and master the necessary tips that can make them better by the day. Whether you are a professional or a newbie, it is essential that you pay attention to your trainers when they are giving some helpful tips that will keep you safe and make you better at horse riding. There are frequent dressage training workshops that are organized, and you need to get your time to attend and learn something new.

You could be a master at the sport, but training is essential since you will learn some new thing or be reminded one you have forgotten. Rubbishing the whole practice is imprudent, and one must always spare their time to show up and get the details and tips the instructors have for them.

Having a significant plan and sticking to it is essential in this scenario. When you turn up for training, do not say how you are only riding for an hour and then leave. You need to be sure that you are going to ride and allocate your valid time to the matter. Your timetable matters but you do not need to bring it in between the practice and before you are done with the event.

The horse is your vessel in this case. If you succeed in controlling it, then you are like a great driver who knows how to control their car. Controlling the animal does not get perfect overnight. It takes time and practice. While still mastering the art, you are advised to use the barn walls for support, which will see you managing the control suitably in no time.

Some people have difficulties managing their bodies while they are atop the animal. This can be quite a challenge, and the sooner you deal with it, the better. Therefore, struggle to learn how to make your body respond, balance and make overall coordination that matches the commands given by the brain and the perception the animal makes.

You should learn moves that will make the horse move at different paces. There are times when you need it to speed up and maintain a high steady speed, and there are times you will need it to slow down and move slowly. As instructed, ensure you master the right posture to poise the horse for it to reciprocate as you desire. If you confuse the animal, then you will have yourself to blame since it is docile.

The animal is like a human, and it gets tired at times. As a professional and a good master or mistress, learn the different signs your animal shows to indicate some feeling. When tired, you should let it rest and do not force it to keep running and moving. Learning the personality of this animal is a secret towards having it coming through for you when you really need it.

The positioning of the saddle is easy, but without caution, one can mess at times. Every occasion and event has a suitable saddle position fit for it. You should never confuse either of the options for a different occasion. This may seem obvious, but some people forget. Attending the training frequently will ensure you are reminded necessarily, and no mistake will befall you.
