A Guideline On How To Get Rid Of Fleas In Carpet

By Heidi Carver

Fleas are very tiny parasites. They can be very difficult to see. They are also very difficult to kill and getting rid of them is not that easy.

When fleas get embedded on our carpets, all of us find that it is not easy to remove them. We should really get rid of them to protect ourselves and our homes too. There are a few steps on how to get rid of fleas in carpet.

To start, one must vacuum their carpets carefully. One should use the correct nozzle to be attached to their vacuum cleaning machine rather than just to push that back and forth. You should be starting at one side of your room and vacuum it carefully until you are done with the whole carpet. Pay close attention to all the corners of the room. Parasites like these like to hide in a place where it is dark and is humid. Vacuum underneath the furniture as well. When you are finished, throw away the bag of the vacuum. It is better if you can throw that away in a trash can outside the house. This is to make sure those fleas will not be back.

If you have upholstered furniture in the house, consider cleaning it too. Fleas usually jump into these furniture. So, one should clean those most especially at its base and seam. If they will not be removed from the furniture, they will just be back to the carpets.

To remove them carefully, you can also do steam cleaning on your carpets and your furniture. If you do not have a steam cleaner, you may borrow from a neighbor or just rent it. Follow the instruction on how you would use that steam cleaner. You may also hire a steam cleaning staff to clean it for you. Steam cleaners exert high temperature which can kill fleas and eggs.

Use an insecticide and spray that directly to the carpets. The spray could kill the eggs. If ever you do not like using chemicals, you may use salt and some borax. Borax is really safe for humans and pets so you have nothing to be worried of. Sprinkle its mixture on the carpet and allow that to penetrate for twenty four hours.

Throw away your rugs and pet bedding. This would aid in flea removal. If you do not want to throw them away, wash them properly. If you have pets, you should also give them a flea treatment. Go to the veterinarian so that you can ask for a proper medication for your pet. You should also consider changing the diet of your pet.

If all of those steps still will not work, hire an extermination personnel. This personnel will be able to do flea treatment for your house. They will also be able to advice you on how to take care of this problem.

Those are all the things you can do to remove those parasites. If one has parasites at their house, it would affect their health. One should see to it that they could always clean their house carefully.
