What You Need To Organize Before You Hire A Pet Sitting CA Service

By Helen Nelson

For pet owners, one of the issues they have to deal with is what to do with their pets when they want to travel. If you are in this situation, hiring a sitter is quite a good idea. The sitter can watch and take care of the animal when you are away. Once you hire a pet sitting CA servicer, you need to know what to do, so that they can easily manage when they are away. Here is some advice.

You have to leave plenty of food and water for your animal. The best thing would be to purchase adequate stock, so that the food does not run out. Another option would be to provide enough money, so that the sitter can buy more food. You also need to show the sitter where you stash stuff that the animal uses. This includes things like toys and even leashes and tags.

You should inform the sitter if the animal is on any kind of medication. Show them how to administer the drug to the animal. In addition, inform them of any past illnesses and injuries that the animal might have had. This will help them know how to handle the animal. You should also tell the person what to do in case the creature gets sick while it is under their care. Also, let the vet know that you are away and the sitter can bring it in in case it gets sick.

Be clear about which dates you will leave and which dates you will be coming back. This will help the sitter to organize their schedule and be available on the dates that you want. Make sure to leave behind ways in which you can be contacted by the sitter. Also, provide emergency contacts of another person, in case you cannot be reached.

Show the sitter around the house before you leave. Point out any problem areas that might give them trouble. For example, if there are any sinks that do not work or if there are toilets that are not functioning well.

Inform them about the creature's schedule. What time to feed it and what time to take it out for walks. Tell them the do's and the don'ts of the animal. This includes areas in the house where it is not allowed to go into.

The ID of the animal should be up to date. This includes updating its chip, if you are using a chip for informational purposes. You should also get it a name tag with contact details on it. This way, in case the animal gets loose and runs ways, it will be much easier to locate it.

Provide the person with the key and security codes to your home. This way, they can easily get in and out of the home. It will also be helpful if you can tell your security company that a sitter is going to becoming on a regular basis. It is also advisable that you tell your neighbors about the sitter, so that they do not think that it is someone trying to break in.
