Dog Boarding And Training Colorado Springs

By Enid Hinton

Pet owners looking to board an animal can often have a hard time doing so. Some Dog Boarding and Training Colorado Springs kennels and others will still allow dogs labeled as dangerous by society. Owners with these breeds considered dangerous like pit bulls, rottweilers and doberman pinchers have some of the most difficult when it comes to finding a boarding facility for a pet.

These breeds are generally those labeled by society as dangerous. Some of these breeds include chows, pit bulls, rotweillers, and doberman pinchers. While banned in Denver, not all areas in the State have banned these breeds. Still, before traveling through an area in which this is the case, it is good to know so as to protect the pet or pets that may be traveling through the area at the time.

Lucky provides a variety of services which help care for, and comfort your pet while away from home, or when simply feeling ill and unable to care for pets. These services include pet sitting, boarding, training and rescues. Unlike other kennels, in which pets are left to tend to themselves, Lucky provides an active pet sitter to care for pets.

One may make it to Colorado, only to have a pet confiscated and euthanized, if one does not inquire about banned breeds in the vicinity of a boarding facility. If dogs are banned in the area, and the pet gets out of a fenced area, it is highly possible this could happen. As such, it is always good to board any dog considered one of the dangerous breeds outside any areas in which this is the case.

Sadly, Denver and other areas in the state have now banned pit bulls and associated breeds. Whereas, dobermans, rottweilers, and others are also on the dangerous dog watch list in many areas. While labeled as a dangerous breed, it should be noted that any animal can be brought up to be kind, or mean, same with most humans.

Most resorts will allow dogs to play in group regardless of breed as long as the dog can pass a temper test, has up to date rabies and boardatello shots, and is in good health. All of which are just as important to the health of pets as well as the businesses boarding the pets.

Pet owners also need to have a local and long distance phone number so that if any vet services are needed, the office has a way to contact the pet owner. In some cases, a resort will make an allowance in an upfront contract as to how much an owner is willing to spend if services were needed during a stay. These amounts can often range from a limit of $500-1000 dollars.

It is often good to select a private resort over a corporate store when boarding a pet. To assure the pet has a place to stay upon arrival, it is important to inquire about any breeds which are either banned from the resort, the city or state in which one plans on boarding the pet.
