Simple & Effective Tips To Help You Train Your Dog

By Manny Rutz

We all enjoy the company of pets, especially dogs. Sometimes when we get a new puppy they can misbehave and basically cause mayhem around your home. We are going to provide you with a few tips to teach you how to stop bad behavior and teach your dog obedience the right way. Be sure that you read this article twice if you have to.

The first thing you'll need to do is teach your dog to sleep in one place. Your dog will get used to its crate if it can feel at home in it. Feed them in their crate and keep it open for them to come in and out. Thus, they will associate a good thing like yummy food with the crate.

Take small steps when crate training your dog. Once your puppy feels comfortable in the open crate, close the door and offer the dog a treat. In the beginning it is important to only leave the dog in the crate for a few seconds. After a while you will be able to leave them in the crate for longer amounts of time. Freaking out your dog is a sign that you need to slow down.

If you have a small dog that you are house training then be sure to setup a schedule to feed your dog. If you feed him at the same time several times a day you'll know when to take him out for walks or to do his necessities outside. Be sure that you are not feeding him randomly throughout the day since this might create confusion and unwanted accidents around the house.

You don't have to sacrifice an attractive home to have a dog. Some dogs are destructive and can ruin the look of a home's interior and exterior. With a little training, though, those same dogs can be trusted to not wreck the house. If you remember to use the advice from this article, you will be able to coexist peacefully with your dog and most likely will become part of the family.
