By Deborah Brooks

For hundreds of years dogs have stood by mans side as his companion and best friend. Food and comfort are two things that man and beast depend on each other for, as well as many other necessities. The modern world affords us many different experiences and interesting items. The All natural dog treats ny pet lovers purchase are good for your dog.

Dogs are used to eating the scraps off of the dinner table, or their dry dog biscuits that are bought for them to subsist on. Over the last couple of years the quality of food for our furry friends has increased drastically. In New York alone many bakeries that cater specifically to dogs have opened their doors.

Not only are there bakeries that produce food specifically for dogs, there are artisan bakeries. This means that the bakeries do not churn out their doggies treats on some assembly line in some factory somewhere. No they make the treats by hand and with only the freshest ingredients available.

Dogs are as vulnerable to unhealthy foods as humans are. One of the reasons there are artisan bakeries opening for hounds is that it is a reaction by the bakeries owners to the dog food industry. As with the human fast food industry, the dog food industry must churn out food very fast and churn out a lot of it as well.

The sheer amount that needs to be produced to feed the dog population is massive. So there are often shortcuts that have been taken in the production of the food. This means that dog kibble may contain all sorts of chemicals and hormones that are not good for dogs. An owner of one of these bakeries in NY that have opened up did it because her dog was overweight, even though the dog did not over eat. She did some research into what goes into the food in the dogs bowl and was horrified by the chemicals and hormones that are being pumped into them.

The artisan bakeries have many different options available for the discerning pup. Flavors like venison, Liver, Free range chicken are available in biscuit form and there are even doggy cupcakes, that look very close to being a human cupcake. These bakeries have vegan options as well for dogs, but they probably don't go as much for these flavors as they do for the more meaty and delicious ones.

These treats are great for your dogs taste buds and general health. However they are much more costly than your average dog biscuit. This makes sense if you look at the price of the raw ingredients. Because they are fresh, local and organic they are much more expensive than any other ingredients, this shows in the prices of the cupcakes and the cookies.

NY has a wide range of activities and these artisan bakeries that produce dog treats are just the tip of the weird and wonderful ice berg that is new york. If one looks one could probably find many more interesting places to take your dog to have a good time, or to get a delicious treat. With all this choice, its no wonder dogs are all so happy all the time.
