By Debra Garrison

There are many types of mammals that all rely on food for survival. Mammals are divided into two, human beings and animals. In animals, we have flying mammals of class Ave that have their bodies covered with feathers and their legs covered with scales. The mammals are of different kinds. There are those that eat meat, insects and most of them eat grains. They have beaks that help them in consuming food. That is why songbird feeder is important.

These mammals are of various kinds. Some live in the forest while others stay at home. All of them need food for survival. Those that live in the forest attract very many people including tourists and researchers who come to learn more about their behaviors. In national parks, these mammals are enclosed in an area where they are given food.

To maintain the flying creatures in the parks, they must be fed well or otherwise they will migrate. Each of these creatures feed on different things. There are those that feed on meat like the eagles and the vultures, others will feed on insects, nectar and the majority feed on grain like sunflower seeds, millet and sorghum. It is not good to throw the grains on the ground for them to pick.

To avoid congestion, these channels ought to be made to fit all animals. Congestion can cause suffocation and even death of an animal. Congestion is a sign that the animals have no space of even taking enough food. That can also lead to poor health of the flying mammals.

When purchasing the channel in which these animals will be taking food, be keen to ensure that the channels are safe for this animal. This channel should have properly finished edges that have will not scratch an animals and give wounds and marks on their bodies. When an animal has bleeding parts, the chances of transmission of a disease are very high.

The food of these animals ought to be stored properly. Weevils should not be let to destroy the grains. Those animals that take meat should be considered too. Nectar needs to be artificially produced for those animals that feed on nectar. The food should also be kept in a cool dry place. This is to avoid molds and other bacteria from growing on the mold. Proper storage will ensure an animal consumes clean food that has no risks of diseases.

Water should not be left out. Clean water has contains no bacteria hence no diseases. This animal should take clean water that is disinfected regularly to kill germs. The water should be in plenty at all times. Some mammals require water for bathing and that need to be provided separately in bigger channels away from the drinking channels.

The channels can be made of wood to form rectangular shapes or even tubes for the different species of the animals. The common songbird feeder used is the suet and hopper. They should be kept in location that can be accessed by all flying mammals and away from rodents and pests. By this you will have guaranteed the safety of the untamed flying mammals.
